How to find the focus position of fiber laser cutting machine?

Where is the focus of a laser cutting machine? Where is the focal position of the fiber laser cutting machine? How to find the location of metal laser cutting machine? Many people have such questions when using laser cutting machines. The low and medium power laser equipment manufacturers will analyze the following three focus positions for you:

1. Focus on the surface of the sheet
This method also becomes 0 focal length. When used, the focus of the cutting machine is selected to be close to the surface of the workpiece. The smoothness of the upper and lower surfaces of the workpiece in this mode is different. Generally speaking, the cutting surface close to the focus is relatively smooth, while the cutting surface far from the cutting focus is relatively smooth. The lower surface appears rough. This mode should be determined according to the process requirements of the upper and lower surfaces in the actual application.

2. Focus on the inside of the plate
 This way also becomes positive focal length. When the workpiece you need to cut is stainless steel or aluminum steel plate, the mode where the cutting point is inside the workpiece is often used. However, one disadvantage of this method is that due to the principle of focus, the cutting width is relatively larger than the cutting point on the workpiece surface. At the same time, the cutting airflow required in this mode is larger, the temperature is sufficient, and the cutting and perforation time is slightly longer. Therefore, when you choose the material of the workpiece, it is mainly made of stainless steel or aluminum with high hardness.

3. Focus on the plate
 This way we also have a negative focal length, because the cut point is not located on the surface of the cut material nor inside the cut material, but above the cut material. This method is mainly used for cutting high-thickness materials. The reason why the focus is positioned above the cutting material in this way is mainly because the thick plate requires a large cutting width, otherwise the oxygen delivered by the nozzle is very likely to be insufficient and the cutting temperature will drop. But one disadvantage of this method is that the cutting surface is relatively rough, which is not practical for high-precision cutting.
